Hide and Go Shriek 4K UHD & Blu-ray Coming in October From Terror Vision

A cult slasher long unseen in its uncut form is coming to 4K UHD for the first time. Hide and Go Shriek (1988) is getting a deluxe 2-disc 4K UHD and Blu-ray release this October from Terror Vision.

Newly restored from its 35mm interpositive and packed with archival and newly produced features, the set marks the first time the film’s uncut version has been available since its VHS and Laserdisc days.

Hide and Go Shriek (1988) 2-Disc (UHD:BD) Deluxe Edition

What is Hide and Go Shriek?

Directed by Skip Schoolnik and produced by Dimitri Villard, Hide and Go Shriek is a late-’80s slasher in the vein of Friday the 13th and Halloween. The story follows eight high school graduates who decide to celebrate their last night together by sneaking into a furniture store after hours.

Once inside, the group begins a harmless game of hide-and-seek, but the night takes a deadly turn. One by one, they’re hunted and killed, and it quickly becomes clear that someone, or something, is inside with them. What begins as a prank becomes a fight for survival.

About the 4K UHD and Blu-ray release

Terror Vision is presenting the film as a 2-disc deluxe set featuring both a 4K UHD and a Blu-ray disc, each region-free. The release uses a new 4K scan from the original 35mm interpositive and includes both the UHD and Blu-ray editions of the uncut version.

The 4K disc features Dolby Vision HDR and offers the highest quality presentation the film has ever received. It is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio with English 2.0 stereo sound.

This is the first time the film has been presented uncut since its original home video release.

Packaging and limited edition contents

This is a strictly limited release of 3,000 units. The set comes housed in a rigid slipcase designed by Earl Kessler and includes a limited edition slipcover.

A 40-page perfect-bound booklet is also included, featuring essays from Alexander Heller-Nicholas, Jason Kleeberg, Stephanie Crawford, Michael Varratti, and Brad Henderson of Terror Vision.
